Cadastral Map

This is map shows distinct boundries and ownership between the land area therefore making it a cadastral map. Thematic Map

The color depictions given within this thematic map how the median ages in the year 2000 within each state. This is one of my favorite maps because they are very easy to read and also for a cartographers it is easy for your point to be made. This thematic map in perticualar is able to show census data in a graph formation. Even though you can only partially see it at the bottom of the map, Florida is the darkest green color indicating that we in 2000 had one of the highest populations on the east coast.

Planimetric Map

This map is showing a planimetric map because the information shown is in horizontal positioning. Even though this is an example of an older planimetric map it still gets the point accross of what it is supposed to represent. The map is representing the William Murdock Smethwick Gas Works. The circle's within the map represent the gas holders and they make up just a few of over 1000 FMPG's.

Mental Map

I really like this mental map because it is portrayed like synapses in the brain and it shows what goes on within this cartographers mind. I really enjoy mental maps because they show the true craziness that occur's within someone's mind. No two people are thinking the exact same thing at the exact same time and its wonderful how mental maps are able to show people's individual characteristics. This specific map is describing someone's emotional intelligence. Just as no two people think exactly the same so two people have exact same emotions. Emotions are a large part of all of our lives and this map is very informational in showing that. The main trend in this map is to show show to deal with your own emotions as well as others.

Topographic Map

I chose to make my first post the topographic map because so far it has been one of my favorite one's that we have studied. This is a topographic map of a camp site. It is showing through the contour lines that it is a relativevly flat area, perfect for camping mostly around where the lake it located! This is the point they are trying to get accross so that people know this is good area if someone wants to set up a camp site. It gives a good reference of the elevation over on the right hand side by the 3095 marker. The elevation reads at 10,155 feet. My favotire thing about his map is where it shows the difference in elevation between 11600 to 10400. This is quite a difference and would be amazing to see!
